What's Hot in Atlanta

I just returned from a quick trip to Atlanta.  It was a busy two days and two nights.  Had dinner with friends both nights, visited a client's new home and spent the entire day on Monday at ADAC.  If you aren't familiar with ADAC, this is the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center and it is a designer's playground filled with fabrics, furniture, lighting, carpet and tile.  There are 5 floors of one gorgeous showroom after another, and for those designer's like me that don't get to Atlanta often, you have to cover a lot of ground while there to get to see everything you need.  I spent all day Monday showroom hopping, trying to take it all in and select fabrics, lighting and furniture that I thought would work for my clients.  You can't take pictures everywhere, but I tried to document as many of my favorite items for future reference.  So here you have it, this is my list in pictures of my favorite pieces and what's hot in Atlanta right now.

Gorgeous indoor/outdoor fabrics!

BEST OF: White Coffee Tables

In the past week, I have had two different clients request a white coffee table for their space.  I found this interesting because I've never had a client mention wanting one in the past.  I personally could never have one because the OCD cleaner in me would constantly be wiping it down.  I feel like anything would show on it, and that would drive me crazy!  However, that doesn't mean I don't think they are super chic, because they are, and I am excited about the opportunity to put one in a space.  So while I was on my search for a few options for my two clients, I thought I would report back on the best ones out there and what kind of space they look best in.

Here are my top looks and picks (at every price point):

Just In!

I've been updating the Vivere fabric library, and just received a fabulous selection of Lulu DK fabrics!  They range from indoor/outdoor fabrics to soft linens to others heavy enough for hospitality/contract use.

These are such cheerful prints perfect for the summer.  The two coral prints in orange and blue at bottom right are indoor/outdoor.  Don't you love?  I'm thinking about using the fabric in the top right corner, Bloomsbury, for some pillows.

Busy busy this week, but had to take a moment and show these to you.
What do you think?  Any that jump out at you?

Update: My new coffee table was delivered this week, and it is GORGEOUS!  Very pleased and can't wait to show it once I get it placed.

THIS WEEK: Fabulous Furniture

It's been a super busy week.  I attempted to sit down and write this post on Monday, and then again yesterday, but things kept coming up, one being an opportunity to design a shoe store on King Street.  That would be a great project for sure!  All fingers crossed!  I have so many fun projects as of late that I want to share on here, but I have barely had time to properly photograph them, including my new home.  Actually, still trying to get it finished.  For instance, our new coffee table is sitting on a freight truck in some other state yet to be delivered.  The table I'm having made for our kitchen is still "under construction", and I can't seem to find a time to sit down and finish window treatments or the pillows for the bed.  BUT, here is a sneak peek of the new coffee table that I am so excited about.

While I'm on the subject of furniture, I went to the local Knoll showroom yesterday to select some pieces for a project.  If you aren't familiar with Knoll, it is a phenomenal furniture company that produces all the great classic pieces.  These pieces are truly museum quality, and any of us would be so lucky to own just one.  You probably are most familiar with the Barcelona chair, pictured below.  It was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929.  Such a gorgeous chair!

Now, back to my story.  So I get to the showroom and find that my fabulous Knoll rep had so perfectly set up our meeting space.  If only every meeting was like this with fresh cut flowers and Starburst jelly beans (my favorite), all laid out on a beautiful Knoll marble top table!

Also, so chicly on display next to us was an original Saarinen Tulip table with 2 Bertoia side chairs. Love!  These are the real deal too, no imitations here folks!

How great is the fabric on those seat cushions?

Once you see this table in person, it's hard to be okay with purchasing the Ikea knockoff.  Just not the same!  Anyway, I hope your week is turning out to be just as good and successful as mine is turning out to be, despite the two feet of water outside my back door.
