AFTER: House Pictures

Finally!  I have After pictures of my not-so-new-anymore house.  Better late than never I guess.  Unfortunately, this doesn't show all of the house.  I still haven't finished all I wanted to get done, but it's just the way it goes - my client's spaces always come first.  So happy though to finally have our table.  Four Corners Woodworking out of Charleston did excellent work.  It was constructed out of reclaimed heart pine and sanded down to a like-new, smooth finish.  After it was delivered, we simply applied a coat of tongue oil to bring out the colors of the wood.

The table linens from South in Chapel Hill were a beautiful gift from the boyfriend's mom.  Love the way they compliment the wood!

A dear friend gave me the amazing conch shell below as a housewarming present!  Love it in the kitchen!

Next up, my office!  It took me forever to make these window treatments, but they were totally worth the long nights and curse words!

I recovered this chair below.  It had an awful black vinyl seat and a cherry wood frame.  So pleased with the revamped version!  The kelly green wool is Kvadrat for Maharam.

And finally, the yard is still a work in progress, but it's come a long way from this.

Now we have a fence, greener grass and have put some plants in the ground.  I planted a lemon tree in the blue pot and found these outdoor pillows at Target for just under $8 for the two.  Probably my best sale find ever! Now need to repaint chairs.

I'm thinking about using these Trina Turk for Schumacher outdoor fabrics somewhere to go with my pillows.

And just as I am writing this post, I receive an email from Schumacher about their new indoor/outdoor trim line, Plein Air.  Super tempted to do something fun with one of these trims and fabrics above!

My goal for next week: get back to regular posts on here.  No more slacking!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Client's Relaxing Retreat: Part 2

Many many posts ago, I featured photos of a client's home.  Now, many posts later is Part 2 of that client's home.  As I mentioned in the previous post, this client understood that good design doesn't happen over night, so we were able to spend time working together to develop a space that was exactly what she and her husband wanted. Every detail of the design was selected with purpose, and I think it's very important to follow this instead of purchasing something to just fill an empty space.

We just recently had the photo shoot and here are some of my favorites!  I was drawn to the detail shots because they seem to show best the feel of the home when you are there.  You can really get a sense of the textures and materials we used to create this relaxing and cool space.

This last shot is of the husband's bathroom.  We were all so pleased with the wallpaper and the way it created such a masculine and rich space.  It was a bold choice for the husband, but it was the right one.  #perfectmaleclient ;-)
