Hello Out There - I'm Back!

I'm back, after too much time away from this blog that I love so much!  Literally since January One, it has been non-stop, working on projects round the clock.  I'm sure some of you have given up on me, and started following other fabulous interiors blogs who actually post on a regular basis.  But for those of you still following me, thank you, and I do have something so very fun to share.  Over the past two months, I have scoured hundreds, probably thousands, of fabric samples, swatch books and cuttings for various projects.  In the midst of all that chaos, Schumacher launched its Mary McDonald collection!  This was such a refresher and a nice little break to see something new, creative and fun.  For those who watch Million Dollar Decorators on Bravo, you know Mary well I am sure, but for those that don't, Mary is an incredibly talented designer and a favorite of mine.  Just like her work, this fabric line does not dissapoint.  The price point is great, and the range of patterns and colors offered is perfect (not too little and not too much)!

Check out these gorgeous 6" trims that would be a perfect detail on drapes or the skirt of a chair or sofa.  To trim out a bedskirt in one of these would look amazing as well!  That one just popped into my head, and is now another way I would love to incorporate these borders into my scheme at home.

A sampling of some her amazing prints below.

Her collection includes these appliques, below, that could be a great way to add some oomph to a pillow, or anywhere else that needs another level of detail.

Check out all these wonderful fabric combinations the line offers.
There is something in this collection for everyone!!!

I'm going to have to do something at home in this black and white combo above, so don't be surprised to see a post down the road showing off this sophisticated border.  Don't you just love this new collection?

Even if you wanted a quick and easy DIY project, you could order 2 appliques and put them on a pair of plain pillows for a little pop!  That sort of detail will completely change the look of a plain sofa/pillow combo.

Just In!

I've been updating the Vivere fabric library, and just received a fabulous selection of Lulu DK fabrics!  They range from indoor/outdoor fabrics to soft linens to others heavy enough for hospitality/contract use.

These are such cheerful prints perfect for the summer.  The two coral prints in orange and blue at bottom right are indoor/outdoor.  Don't you love?  I'm thinking about using the fabric in the top right corner, Bloomsbury, for some pillows.

Busy busy this week, but had to take a moment and show these to you.
What do you think?  Any that jump out at you?

Update: My new coffee table was delivered this week, and it is GORGEOUS!  Very pleased and can't wait to show it once I get it placed.

SPLURGEWORTHY: Fabric

Kelly Wearstler's second fabric collection for Groundworks just launched, and it is one of the best I have seen in awhile.  Typically, a new fabric collection will have a couple styles that steal the show, and the rest are sleepers.  However, this collection is versatile, rich and truly beautiful.  There is something natural and exotic about the line that draws me in, not to mention the color combinations are refreshingly new.  I guarantee you will see at least one fabric that makes you want to splurge a little and have something amazing made.

Which ones do you like?

LINE I LOVE: Lulu DK Child

How is everyone doing?  Apologies for the week-long lapse in posts, but it's been super hectic preparing for our move and the wedding that I have been planning.  Both are happening in the next two weeks!  I even had to forgo an invitation to the Heritage last Friday because I was just too busy.  I hate missing events like that, especially when the weather is perfect.  The boyfriend went though and I'm certain he had enough fun and drinks for the both of us.  Next year!  I spent the weekend making window treatments for the new house and we began redoing an old dresser.  Pictures of both to come once finished and installed.  I owe you all quite a bit of pictures, but once in the new house, I will share all.
I did take about an hour this weekend to peruse my May issue of Elle Decor.  There was a feature on the fabric designer Lulu deKwiatkowski, who has a fabric line Lulu DK Fabrics if you aren't familiar.  She has teamed up with Schumacher to create the line Lulu DK Child, and it is delightful!  Some of these could be used anywhere, not just in a children's setting.  All in all, it is wonderful collection of fabrics, and I would love an offer to do a children's room so I could use some of these.

What do you think?  Wouldn't you agree that some of these fabrics could work outside of a children's room? I like that she designed it that way.
